ASHEBORO, N.C. – Randolph Electric Membership Corporation will celebrate its eighty-sixth annual meeting of the membership Friday, June 21, 2024, at Southwestern Randolph High School in Asheboro. The doors will open at 5 p.m. for members to register and enjoy free homemade ice cream, various informational displays and safety demonstrations. The gospel band Endless Highway will provide live entertainment from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The Birthday Party Rock Star will entertain children during the business meeting.
Members of the press are invited and should alert Nicole Arnold, Communications and Public Affairs Manager, of their intent to attend. Press badges and scripts will be available to those reporters who register with Arnold.
The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the theme “Powering The Journey Ahead.” Members will elect directors for districts 5, 8 and 9 and will hear reports from board President Tammie Phillips, Secretary-Treasurer Lee Isley, and Chief Executive Officer Dale Lambert. Following the business meeting, the co-op will hold drawings for registered members to win various door prizes, including cash and bill credits, gift cards, bicycles of all sizes, small appliances and local pottery.
“As we celebrate our eighty-sixth anniversary, we are proud that our member-owners have ranked REMC amongst the highest in the nation for member satisfaction among electric cooperatives,” said CEO Dale Lambert. “Since 1938, Randolph Electric has kept our member-owners as our top priority. We appreciate the vital role they play in the life of the cooperative.”
The annual meeting process provides an opportunity for members to exercise one of their most important rights as a member-owner — to vote for the board of directors. On Friday, members should bring their registration card, which can be found on the front cover of the June issue of their Carolina Country magazine.
