12/9/18 | 11:00 PM Update
As of Sunday evening, Randolph Electric Membership Corporation continues to make progress with restoration efforts in areas hit hard by Winter Storm Diego. At 11 p.m., the cooperative has 84 outages, affecting approximately 4,700 members. Several contract crews from South Carolina have joined local REMC crews to assist in repairing wire spans and broken poles brought down by snow- and ice-laden trees and tree limbs. Support crews from sister cooperatives are expected to arrive Monday morning. Additional precipitation and continued wind gusts are expected overnight, which will potentially cause more outages. Members should continue to report all outages to 1-877-736-2633. Up-to-date co-op outage numbers can be accessed anytime at https://outages.randolphemc.com.
