What does this Co-op Connections Card I received cost me?

Nothing! There will never be a cost for this program to our members. This is absolutely a free service to you from REMC. It is an attempt to give you more value for your dollar as a member of REMC. The number of participants giving discount offers will grow, so keep checking www.RandolphEMC.com or www.connections.coop/RandolphEMC(case sensitive)to keep up with the great offers you can enjoy.

 

When will I receive my card?

Cards were distributed in the February 2012, issue of the Watts Working newsletter inside Carolina Country magazine. The card set included a letter explaining how the program works, one card, and two key fobs. If you did not receive your issue of Carolina Country, please contact us at 800.672.8212.

 

How does it work?

REMC members simply present their Co-op Connections card at a participating business, and get the discount or deal being offered by that business. It’s that easy!

There is no charge—ever—to members at any time, or to businesses who participate. Businesses decide how much of a discount they will offer. Members should present their card each time they wish to use it for a discount.

 

What types of discounts?

Everything you can imagine. Automotive, entertainment, florists, health/beauty, healthcare, home care, lodging, medical, photography, restaurants, and retail services, just to name a few of the categories.

 

How do I find a list of where I can get discounts?

Visit www.RandolphEMC.com and click on the Co-op Connections card icon on the home page or go directly to www.connections.coop/RandolphEMC (case sensitive).

The list is very easily searchable and very easy to use. You can do a Basic Search by keyword or zip code or by category, or with Advanced Search, choose all the deals for Randolph EMC or any other participating co-op, search multiple co-ops, by state or city.

You can get a list of the pharmacy discounts by visiting www.locateproviders.com. To look up prescription prices, go to www.rxpricequotes.com.

Co-op Connections even has its own app that can be downloaded from the Co-op Connections website, iTunesor Android Market.

 

Why is this called the Co-op Connections program?

It’s called the Co-op Connections program because co-ops throughout the nation are participating to bring value to the members of electric co-ops as well as to help participating businesses. 

 

 

Why is Randolph Electric offering this program to members?

The Co-op Connections program is made available to REMC by Touchstone Energy, a cooperative made up of hundreds of other electric co-ops just like us from across the nation. Because of our size, we are able to achieve great economies of scale, so this program is included in our membership in Touchstone Energy. The cooperative will not incur any additional maintenance fees or annual fees associated with this program.

We feel that the Co-op Connections program is beneficial to all members—who doesn't like to save money? Some folks struggle to pay their bills each month, and though there isn't much we can do about the cost of electricity generation right now, we feel like this program is a good way to help our members save on other necessities, such as groceries and prescription medications. We realize that with the economy the way that it is, many of our members may have lost benefits that were once available through their employers. The card isn’t insurance, but it can help folks save on things that insurance might normally cover.

 

 

Where can I use this card?

Anywhere that Co-op Connections Cards are taken. There are nearly 400 cooperatives in 45 states participating in the program. These benefits are national – so the cards can be used in another state while on vacation!

 

Where do I find a list of benefits?

Follow this link to the Co-op Connections site. From there, just start clicking on the many national benefits listed. You can even search for local businesses in specific areas not listed in the national benefits page. This is by far the best way to keep up with current offers, as new ones are being added every day!

If you do not have Internet access, hard copies may be obtained at your local office.

 

Businesses which I frequently shop at are not on the list. What can I do to get them to participate?

Mention the program to your local business and tell them to call Randolph Electric if they are interested. You may also contact Randolph Electric to let us know that there is a business you feel should be a part of the program.

 

How does the pharmacy discount work?

There are over 48,000 chain and independent pharmacies in this program. These include national chains like Wal-Mart, Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreen’s, and Kroger. This also includes most locally-owned pharmacies in the area. Showing this card when you purchase prescription medications can save you between 10 and 60 percent on short term, acute care medications such as antibiotics and pain killers. Note that pharmacy discounts are not insurance, and are not intended as a substitute for insurance.

 

When does the card expire?

The card doesn’t expire! As long as businesses opt to participate, your card will be effective. Businesses have the option to cancel their offer with 30 days notice. We will make every effort to notify members of cancellations via the Co-op Connections website.

 

What if I lose my card?

You can stop by any REMC office to pick one up or call or email Jill Vanness at 800.672.8212 or Jill.Vanness@RandolphEMC.comwith your contact information.

 

What is that account number on the back?

The member number listed on the card is just to identify you as a member of the REMC Co-op Connections Card Pharmacy Discount Program. It is NOT your REMC account number.

 

Can anyone get a Randolph EMC Co-op Connections Card?

No.You must be a current member of REMC to receive a card. It’s a special benefit for members only.

 

What about my family members? Can I use the card for them as well?

Yes, one card may be used for as many family members as you’d like.
